Keys to the Community: Centering Our Gifts
Saturday, October 18, 2025, 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Centering Our Gifts
"Our gifts are not for us— they are meant to build, maintain, and restore the community. The community needs us to deliver our gifts so it can be vibrant and strong. And we need the community to help us identify our gifts, show us where those gifts are needed, and to receive our gifts.” --UUA
On October 18, from 9:30 am- 1:00 pm, the Leadership Development Committee will host its second 2025/2026 program year workshop for current and aspiring leaders, which will focus on strengths-based leadership. Each participant will receive the gift of a book along with a digital code for a personalized assessment of your innate strengths. See book description below. We’ll spend the first half of the workshop discussing and sharing our assessments and insights, and we'll spend the second half discussing how to deliver these to make our community vibrant and strong.
Lunch and child care will be provided. We have a strong preference for in-person attendance, we can accommodate with Zoom access if needed.
Participants will receive a copy of Strengthsfinder 2.0. Each book includes a unique code for your personalized assessment (which takes about 20 minutes to complete), and you’ll need to bring a print out of your assessment to the workshop.
Questions? Email Jenny and Jeana at leadershipdevelopment@uufws.org.
STRENGTHSFINDER 2.0
Do you have the opportunity to do what you do best every day? Chances are, you don't. All too often, our natural talents go untapped. From the cradle to the cubicle, we devote more time to fixing our shortcomings than to developing our strengths.
To help people uncover their talents, Gallup introduced the first version of its online assessment, StrengthsFinder, in 2001 which ignited a global conversation and helped millions to discover their top five talents.
While you can read this book in one sitting, you'll use it as a reference for decades. Loaded with hundreds of strategies for applying your strengths, this new book and accompanying website will change the way you look at yourself -- and the world around you -- forever.
